How to Practice Alternate Nostril Breathing:

  1. Find a comfortable seated position with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed.
  2. Place your left hand on your left knee with the palm facing up.
  3. Bring your right hand closer to your face. Use your right thumb to close your right nostril and your ring finger or pinky to close your left nostril.
  4. Start by closing your right nostril with your right thumb and inhale through your left nostril for a count of four.
  5. Close your left nostril with your ring finger or pinky, release your right nostril, and exhale through the right nostril for a count of four.
  6. Inhale through the right nostril for a count of four, then switch, closing the right nostril and exhaling through the left nostril for a count of four.
  7. Continue this pattern for several rounds, focusing on your breath and the sensation of air moving through each nostril.
